As a philosophy, Faunalia aims to use exclusively Free and Open Source software. Faunalia has more than 10 years of experience operating actively in the fields of Geographic Information Systems and ecology. Faunalia has offices based in the United Kingdom, Italy and Portugal.

Thanks to the hard work of Giuseppe Sucameli, the supervision of Martin Dobias, and the support of Google for its Summer of Code initiative, DB Manager is now available. DB Manager's aim is to merge some of QGIS DB plugins, e.g. PGManager, SLManager, RT_Sql_Layer. At the moment it works with both PostgreSQL and SQLite databases. The french branch of the OSGEO is organizing a day of exchanges around QGIS the 26 october 2011 in Paris. The event will be hosted by the ministry of ecology and envelopment (MEDDTL) and is sponsored by 3Liz, C-S, Camptocamp, Oslandia. There will be presentations of use cases, technical features, lightning talks. The number of seats is limited to ~100, lunch and coffee are covered by the registration fee (20€, 10€ for members).
